Re-Entering Students

Welcome Back to UB! Below is a check list of items important for you to review before you begin classes.

*If you were once enrolled as a UB undergraduate student and would like to re-enter the university, you need to fill out the Admissions Re-Entry Application.

Getting Started Back at UB Checklist

Resolve any Holds that may be on your Academic Record. Some Holds can prevent registration, Holds can be viewed in your HUB Student Center assessable via MyUB.

  • MMR/MEN Hold: All new students are required to submit proof of immunization BEFORE being permitted to register for classes. This is also true for a returning students whose immunizations may be out of date. If you have the MMR/MEN Hold you will need to submit updated immunization records. The forms needed (and information on how to complete and submit them) are located on the Student Life Gateway (Immunization and Meningitis Requirements) website.

Identification Card (UB Card)

If you still have your UB Card it will become valid once you register for classes. To request a new UB Card go to 1Capen (the ground floor of Capen Hall) on the North Campus. Bring a photo ID or upload your photo online at UB Card Submit Card Photo.

Your UB IT Account

Activate your UBIT name with your single use password. If you do not know your password or need to reset it — go to the UBIT Help Center, 2nd floor Lockwood Cybrary, call 716 645-3542 or visit UB Information Technology.

Meet with an Academic Advisor

Your advisor is determined by your intended or approved major. For contact information, see the Advising Directory. Before your academic advising appointment review the UB Curriculum (General Education) requirements.

Register for Classes & Print Out Your Schedule

Do this online through MyUB and your HUB Student Center. Tutorials on how to use HUB can be found on the HUB Student Center Training Guides website.

Meet with a Financial Aid Advisor

Financial Aid advisors are available for walk in help in 1Capen on the North Campus and 1Diefendorf on the South Campus. Students can also call 716-645-8232 for assistance.

Know Important Dates and Deadlines

Make sure you bookmark and regularly review the Office of the Registrar’s Academic and Student Calendars for important dates and deadlines each semester.

Accept or Decline Student Health Insurance Coverage

Student Health Insurance acceptance is automatic (for full-time domestic students and all international students) unless waived on line. Assistance is available in 1Capen.

Parking Hang Tag

You can register for your hang tag on-line using the Parking and Transportation Services website. Assistance is also available in 1Capen.

Sign up for UB Alert for immediate notice of all campus emergencies via text messaging.
