Re-Entering Students

Welcome back to UB! Below is a checklist of items important for you to review before you begin classes.

*A re-entering student is a student who was once enrolled as a UB undergraduate, would like to re-enter the university, and has filled out the Admissions Re-Entry Application.

Getting Started Back at UB Checklist

Resolve any Holds that may be on your academic record, as some Holds can prevent registration. Holds can be viewed in your MyUB HUB Student Center - To-Do tile.

  • Immunization Records (MMR/MEN Holds): All new students are required to submit proof of official record of measles, mumps and rubella immunity and meet the requirements for meningitis BEFORE being permitted to register for classes. This is also true for returning students whose immunizations requirements may be out of date. If you have the MMR/MEN Hold, information on submitting updated records is located on the Student Guide (Immunization and Health Requirements) website.
  • Financial Agreement and Profile Information Holds: Students are required to affirm understanding of their financial obligation to pay all tuition, fees and other associated costs assessed as a result of registering for classes. Students are also responsible for reviewing and updating their biographic/demographic profile information on a semesterly basis. Refer to the To-Do tile of your MyUB HUB Student Center to affirm. Reference the step-by-step guide on Student Accounts' website or the step-by-step guide on the Office of the Registrar's website for more information.

Identification Card (UB Card)

If you still have your UB Card, it will become valid once you register for classes. To request a new UB Card go to 1Capen (the ground floor of Capen Hall) on the North Campus. Bring a photo ID or upload your photo online at UB Submit Card Photo.

Activate your UBIT name with your single use password. If you do not know your password or need to reset it —access the UB Information Technology website, call 716-645-3542, or go to the UB Tech Squad, 3rd floor Silverman Library. Begin accessing your UB email immediately for important reminders and information.

Your advisor is determined by your major. For contact information, view your advisor in Navigate or via your MyUB HUB Student Center. You can also find a listing of advising offices by major by using the Advising Directory. Before your academic advising appointment, review the UB Curriculum (General Education) requirements. Visit the Undergraduate Catalog and select UB Curriculum (General Education).
