Fellowships and Scholarships

Nationally competitive fellowships and scholarships are available to highly qualified undergraduate applicants. Some of the programs support undergraduate study. Others are for qualified students completing graduate or post-graduate study. Students apply for these scholarships in their junior year, although some programs will consider applications from sophomores. They all require institutional nomination and considerable research experience or community service in addition to very high grades.

Students who wish to compete for these prestigious opportunities need to prepare early and prepare well. Assistance is provided to all UB undergraduates by the national fellowships and scholarships coordinator. See Nationally competitive fellowships and scholarships for more information.
