Add, Drop, and Resign

When making changes to your semester schedule, remember to ALWAYS print an updated copy of your schedule through the web registration link on MyUB and verify that all changes have been recorded correctly.

Students are not permitted to sit in a class (after the second week) for which they are not registered. Students are not permitted to retroactively register for a class after the end of the second week of classes. Students who are officially auditing a class cannot retroactively have the audit grade option converted to a letter grade option. (See academic calendars for dates.)

Students dropping courses after the first week or resigning courses after the second week should carefully consult calendars of deadline dates and confer with a financial aid advisor as necessary concerning impact on financial aid eligibility.

Dropping/Adding

  • Students may change their schedule (dropping or adding courses) at any time after the early registration period and until the end of the first week of classes. Courses dropped during this period will not appear on the students' transcripts and students are not financially responsible for these courses. (See academic calendars for dates).
  • Students can continue to add and drop courses during the second week of classes. Courses dropped will not appear on the student's transcript, however students will assume a 30 percent tuition liability.

Course Resignation

  • Beginning the third through the eleventh week of the semester students can resign from their course work. The grade of "R" will be recorded on a student's record permanently. (See academic calendars for dates).

Additional information about registration is found at the Student Response Center web site.
