UBLearns

UBlearns is a web based course management and delivery application using the e-Learning software platform known as "Blackboard". Faculty use UBlearns to post course documents and PowerPoint presentations, or host class related discussion boards or post links to web sites that relate to information relevant to their course. They may even use UBlearns to give assignments and tests. UBlearns is capable of delivering video, audio, and images. It also includes chat and email features.

Each semester more and more faculty use UBlearns to enhance their courses and expect you to access their materials on a daily basis. You may find, however, that not all of your courses in a given semester will appear on UBLearns. Instructors decide on a course-by-course basis whether or not to utilize this online tool. You will find, for those courses that use UBLearns, that features used vary depending upon the course content, objectives, and faculty needs.

Some advisors may utilize UBLearns to convey important advising information, notably through sections of UBE 101 or other entry level courses which focus on student adjustment and orientation to the academic discipline (like the honors colloquium, EAS 140, etc.). Information conveyed in this manner is not a substitute for reviewing UB e-mail communications which are routinely sent to undergraduates.

UBLearns is the hub of the University's online learning system. Blackboard on UBlearns is web-accessible 24 hours per day, seven days a week.

Visit the UBLearns Web site. (You need to be registered for a class that utilizes UBLearns to view information for that class.)
