Email and Listservs

The University at Buffalo strongly recommends that all students access their UB e-mail accounts regularly and often. Many important and official communications to students are sent to their university email address. Some examples of official university communications that are sent via e-mail include: mid-semester grades, academic warning and probation notices and notice of lack of satisfactory academic progress to receive financial aid.

Many advising units and departments communicate to specific student populations by using departmental list servs. Students must look for information provided to them in this way as these messages will contain important deadline dates, departmental requirements or important information about specific majors. If you are not a member of a list serv that is specific to your interests and would like to join, please contact the department or appropriate advising unit to become a member.
