Getting Started

There are a few important things that you will need before beginning web registration.

UBITName and Password

Your UB IT Name & Password - If you don't know your UB IT Name and Password, contact the CIT Help Desk at 645-3542 or cit-helpdesk@buffalo.edu.

DARS Report and the Undergraduate Catalog

Do your homework early. Refer to the undergraduate catalog for general education and degree requirements. View your DARS report and make an appointment to speak with an academic advisor so you know which classes you want to take.

Registration Windows

Students are assigned "registration windows", time blocks during which they are eligible to register. Know when you can register and be sure that the day you're attempting to register is within those dates. Registration windows are posted on the Student Response Center website. Please use MyUB to check your specific registration window.

Checkstops

Make sure that you have resolved any checkstops that would prohibit you from registering. You should do this before your registration window opens. Note that checkstops usually cannot be removed when UB offices are not open. Please view your checkstops through MyUB.

Registration Dates

Be aware of important registration dates

  • Drop/Add courses by the end of the second week of classes (This is different for Summer courses.)
  • Resign courses by the end of the eleventh week of classes.
  • Financial Liability - If you drop courses after the first week of classes, you will still have charges applied to your student account.
