Fall 2008 FINAL EXAMS are just around the corner. Are you prepared? Be sure that you have consulted the Final Exam Schedule and you have spoken with your instructors for any updated information regarding your exams.
HAVE A FINAL EXAM CONFLICT?
According to UB’s Student Response Center, if you observe that you are scheduled for TWO exams during the same examination period or you have THREE exams scheduled on one day, then you have an “EXAM CONFLICT .”
Contact the instructors of the courses and explain the conflict in exams. Usually, one instructor will be able to schedule an alternate time for you to take his/her exam. If you are unable to arrange the re-scheduling of your examination with faculty, then contact the appropriate Dean’s Office for assistance.
If your final exam is assigned to more than one classroom, contact the instructor during the last week of classes to determine to which room you are to report for the exam.

Would you like to earn UB credit, gain valuable teaching experience, and make a contribution to your community? UB’s Department of Linguistics is offering a Teaching Internship for the Spring 2009 semester!
The internship places UB undergraduate students in one of the Buffalo Public Schools as a Teacher’s aide or tutor, to work with
children on developing their language and literacy skills. The internship is open to students from ANY major or grade level, who are native or near-native speakers of English. For three credits, interns work 112 hours over the course of the semester (about 8-10 hours per week), in a classroom or tutoring room in one of the public schools. Interns can be placed in an early childhood school, an elementary school, a middle school, or a high school; the children in the schools include Spanish-English bilinguals, inner-city children, and international students.
To find out more about the internship or to apply, stop by the office of Dr. Jeri Jaeger, Professor - Department of Linguistics, 618 Baldy Hall, and pick up the information letter and participation form from the top wall-pocket next to her door. Or e-mail Dr. Jaeger at: jjaeger@buffalo.edu.
