October 21, 2005 - Last day for continuing students to “resign” for a Fall 2005 course with a grade of “R” (by 11 pm). Also, last day to apply for a Leave of Absence for Fall 2005 semester. Note: First semester students only have an extended resign deadline of Friday, November 11, 2005.

Plan ahead! The Spring 2006 Electronic Class Schedule is currently available.
Now is the time to be meeting with your academic advisor to plan a schedule for the spring semester. If you are undecided about a major, schedule your appointment with Student Advising Services. If you have an intended or approved major, consult the Advising Locations directory for your appropriate advising unit. SUNY has mandated that all UB students acknowledge receipt of and affirm the University’s standards for behavior. Failure to do so will result in a checkstop on your account and prevent registration for courses for the spring 2006 semester. Be sure and affirm UB’s Rules and Regulations on-line now. You need only your UBit name and password.
Checkstops will be placed on students’ records in early October 2005. So be sure that you affirm now and are able to register!
Mandatory Advising
Remember that first semester freshman are also required to meet with a Student Advising Services advisor before spring 2006 course registration can occur. UB’s Department of Romance Languages and Literatures is offering proficiency exams in Spanish and French this fall. These exams are NOT placement exams. They are intended for students with 3 or more years of high school Spanish or French and to test a student’s elementary and intermediate level proficiency.

The Learning Center offers free tutoring services in math and writing.
The Math Place assists students with the following courses: ULC147 and 148, MTH115, 121, 122, 131, 141, and 142. Please bring your textbook, notes, and any problems or questions that you might have.
The Writing Place guides students through the writing process and assists with the organization of ideas and the perfection of grammar. Students are encouraged to bring in their papers, essays and projects to the Center.
